Visit the Tribute Page...

One day just doesn’t seem enough to celebrate or remember the special women in our lives. Therefore, the National Black Herstory Task Force (NBHTF) has designed a unique page that will showcase your loved ones from May to May.

Take this opportunity to be among the first to submit an electronic photo of your mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters and daughters along with an essay saluting her legacy. The essay should be one hundred words or less and include her name and hometown. Each electronic photograph along with the written text should be sent to info@blackherstory.org

For only a $25* contribution to the NBHTF Conference Fund, you can pay tribute to a woman who deserves to be recognized all year long.

Payment can be made by credit or debit card via www.PayPal.com.
The NBHTF account name on Paypal.com is treasurer@blackherstory.org.

You may also mail your check, written text and photograph (photographs will not be returned but filed) to the following address:

National Black Herstory Task Force, Inc.
P.O. Box 55021
Atlanta, GA 30308

For additional information, you may also contact us a info@blackherstory.org.

This is a fundraiser for the National Black Herstory annual conference.

*Please send $25 for each submission.

"Mama exhorted her children at every opportunity to 'jump at de sun.' We might not land on the sun, but at least we would get off the ground."
Zora Neale Hurston

Every mother is like Moses. She does not enter the promised land. She prepares a world she will not see.
Pope Paul VI

"When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child."
Sophia Loren

"And so our mothers and grandmothers have, more often than not anonymously, handed on the creative spark, the seed of the flower they themselves never hoped to see -- or like a sealed letter they could not plainly read." -- Alice Walker

A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.
